Naming: There is certainly no history of volcanic eruptions in the foothills and front ranges of the Canadian Rockies so this name must have an unusual origin possibly related to Allsmoke Mountain. Official name.

Volcano Ridge is a 4.4 kilometre long ridge that is oriented north-northeast - south-southwest. It's northern summit is referred to as Allsmoke Mountain. The southern summit is said to be the summit of Volcano Ridge. [Gillean Daffern]
