Van Horne Range
Van Horne Range (82N)
The Van Horne Range stretches from the Blaeberry River in the northwest to the Kicking Horse River in the southeast. It lies to the west of Split Creek and the Otterhead River.
Sir William Cornelius Van Horne was the General Manger and in charge of the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway. He subsequently became the railway's second president, serving from 1898 until 1899 and was the mastermind behind the company's creation of the chain of luxury hotels.
The name was chosen for the range by George Dawson.
