Located on the continental divide at the headwaters of Currie Creek; northwest buttress of White Man Pass. Blue Range, Banff Park, Alberta/BC border. Major headwaters Bow & Kootenay rivers.

Named in 1917. The peak was named for the red colour of its rock. The idea for the name likely had something to do with White Man Mountain that lies on the opposite side of White Man Pass. Official name.
