Named by Arthur O. Wheeler in 1921. The mountain takes its name from the black Ordivician outcrop on the summit. Official name.


Other Information

Note that there is a "Black Rock Mountain" (with a space between "black" and "rock") in the Ghost River Headwaters northwest of Calgary.
